The Swedish People´s Party
The Swedish People´s Party represents everybody who wants to maintain Finland as a bi-lingual country in the practial sense.
In addition, the Swedish People´s Party also is a moderate liberal political party active in all sectors of politics. The party upholds the ideals of personal freedom and every individual's ability to establish socially useful goals in co-operation with other people. This can best be achived in a democracy based on private economic initiatives, a sustainable use of natural resources, a well developed educational system and a broad but stimulating social security system. In shorthand, the party adheres to the Nordic countries style of democratic governing.
Around 75 per cent of the swedish speaking population in Finland vote for the Swedish People's Party. An increasing part of the votes come from people who are completely bi-lingual, i.e. they have parents from both language groups of Finland or are otherwise fluent in both languages.
